FAQ's

  1. What is Photovoltaic (PV) or Solar Energy System?
    1. A PV system converts sunlight into energy that generates electricity.
  2. How much out of pocket money will it cost me or my business to install a PV electrical system?
    1. Solar systems have never been more affordable. Rebates and Tax incentives offered by the utility companies and both the state and federal governments cover over 70% of the cost of installing a solar energy system!  Of course, your costs will be determined through various factors such as the size and complexity of your system, as well as, financing options available.  Your Arizona Energy Masters solar energy expert will be able to give you an answer after careful analysis of your property.
  3. How long does the installation process take?
    1. The time to install your system depends on the complexity of your custom designed solar energy system.  Typically, a home takes several days while businesses with a larger of number of panels can take a few days longer.  The process is quiet and undisruptive.  Expect business as usual during the installation process.
  4. What size system will our property need?
    1. The answer to this question can be determined after a complete analysis by Arizona Energy Masters along with a survey of your electricity needs and budget.
  5. What does "tied the grid" mean?
    1. Tied to the grid means that your home or business uses energy purchased through utility companies such as APS and SRP.
  6. Will my HOA approve of my new PV system?
    1. Yes.  You may be required to inform your HOA of you plans to install a solar electric system.  However, it is unlawful for your HOA to disallow you to have your PV system installed.  The Arizona Revised Statute Section 33-1816 will not let a HOA prohibit the installation of solar energy devises.  Arizona Energy Masters can provide your HOA with this information on request.
  7. Once the PV system is installed what maintenance schedule will we need to follow?
    1. Arizona Energy Master’s PV systems require very little maintenance.  Rest assured that any necessary maintenance required during the warranty period will be performed by Arizona Energy Masters.
  8. What happens when it is cloudy, or at night?
    1. Solar panels absorb less sunlight when it is cloudy and therefore produce less electricity if it were a completely sunny day.  At night you will receive electricity to your home or commercial property from your utility company if you are tied to the grid.  If your area participates in net metering, it is possible that any excess energy your solar electric system has created will financial offset the cost of the electricity that you require from your utility company to provide at night or when it is really cloudy.  Not only does this process save you money, but it is great for the environment!
  9. How do I/we file for the rebates offered by the utility companies?
    1. Your experienced team at Arizona Energy Masters will take care of all of the necessary paperwork.
  10. Will the panels be heavy on my roof?
    1. Absolutely not! Today’s panels are extremely lightweight and incredibly durable. Solar panels can actually contribute to the longevity of your roof because they shield hard sunlight from penetrating your roof.
